 | FIELDBUS TECHNOLOGY: Field Transparency Uhde Services relies on Turck’s Foundation Fieldbus portfolio with diagnostic functions for the modernization of the fertilizer complex Abu Qir II in Egypt To update their fertilizer production in Alexandria, Egypt, the Abu Qir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company (AFC) assigned the revamping of their existing plants to Uhde Services. In cooperation with Honeywell Process Solutions as supplier for control systems and physical-layer-specialist Turck, Uhde Services converted the complex to Foundation Fieldbus, including detailed diagnostic functions for a comprehensive asset management system. |

While looking for the most efficient solution, Turck was able to convince the specialists from RWW with an sample IP67 system consisting of sensors and a wireless radio connection. Today the system monitors more than 50 wells and 90 more are about to be equipped with the system. |
